ANALOGUE & DIGITAL MULTICHANNEL PAY TV DISTRIB.
 This segment adds analogue cable tv subscribers to all other digital multichannel pay-TV platforms.

ANALOGUE CABLE TV
 Analogue Cable TV: Dataxis provides its subscribers with detailed worldwide quarterly statistics for each cable television operator with regards to its analogue TV services, including : analogue households passed, basic subs, net adds... We also look at the specific analogue TV services for each operator: role of must-carry, type of contract, pricing, pay-options.

DIGITAL CABLE TV
 Dataxis has tracked cable TV digitization since its inception at the end of the 90s. We now also look at the Mpeg4 deployments which are underway and which will facilitate the introduction HDTV.

DIGITAL SATELLITE PAY TV
 Dataxis has quarterly historical data of every worldwide Digital Satellite TV operator, dating back to the launch of digital satellite TV in the mid-90s. In addition we look at MPEG4 introduction, which will facilitate the introduction of HDTV

DIGITAL TERRESTRIAL PAY TV
 Dataxis tracks terrestrial tv digitization all over the world, whatever the technologies used, and in particular DVB-T, ATSC, ISDB. We track separately digital terrestrial pay-TV (which is offered in some countries only) and digital terrestrial Free To Air (FTA) TV, which is much more widespread.

DSL PAY IPTV
 IPTV over DSL is quickly spreading throughout the world. It is particularly important for telcos, enabling them to compete with cable operators on a equal footing. Some of the early limitations of DSL technologies are gradually being lifted as ADSL2+ and VDSL are introduced, and as MPEG4 technology becomes more common. Dataxis looks in detail at the development of this global market on a quarterly basis. Separately, Dataxis also looks at the Free to Air DSL IPTV market, which has started to develop from France.

FIBRE PAY TV
 IPTV is particularly well adopted for delivery over FTTP (Fibre to the premises) networks as very high bandwidths make it easier to provide better quality TV, including HDTV, delivery of different streams to multiple TV sets. Dataxis looks in detail at the development of this market worldwide, on a quarterly basis.

MMDS
 While increasingly marginal at the global level, MMDS (Microwave Multipoint Distribution System)uses specific frequencies at 2Ghz or 3Ghz in order to provide subscribers with a larger line-up than analogue UHF-VHF terrestrial frequencies. MMDS is still used in some regions of the world, particularly inAfrica.
